What inspired you to open your shop? At the age of sixteen Kris considered herself a professional shopper. Her love of shopping led her into a career in the retail world. She first started working at a friend’s boutique prior to opening her own store with her mother Katheryn. Kris and her mother enjoyed working with customers and the merchandising of their store. After the unfortunate passing of her beloved mother, Kris decided to re-open the store and put the memory of her love in each and every space of Newville’s Olde Homestead.
Why did you begin hosting Margot Elena products and what is your favorite brand to carry? We first discovered Tokyo Milk at the Philadelphia market in 2011, and were head over heels in love with the Kabuki character. The mood-based fragrances really reflects back to our eclectic and down to earth customers. The success of Tokyo Milk led us into your Library of Flowers Collection. My mother had always taught me how to look for the Wow factor for our customers and your brand reflects the WOW!
